The Joy of Soy

Just a quick update to let you know I have a new class on the calendar. On Friday, May 10th from noon to 2:00 pm I’ll be teaching everything you ever wanted to know about soy products like tofu (water-packed, silken, firm, extra-firm…what the heck?), tempeh, and edamame (fresh or green soybeans).

We’ll make (and eat) two of my favorite main dishes. Garlicky “Fried” Tofu or Tempeh is a quick and easy entree. I serve it with rice and veggies or pile it on top of a chef salad. Plant-Powered Pad Thai is out of this world – stir-fried tofu, broccoli, and carrots in a peanut sauce over whole grain noodles- Yum!

For dessert, we’ll make a rich and creamy chocolate mousse and a decadent French Silk Pie. You won’t believe these are made with tofu until you taste them.

I’ll also teach you how to make your own soy yogurt. It’s so easy and much less expensive than buying non-dairy yogurt at the store.

You will not leave this class hungry!
